On Tuesday, February 14, 2012, the International Olympic Committee (“IOC”), Haitian Olympic Committee, and the government of the Republic of Haiti celebrated the ground breaking ceremony for the proposed Olympic sport center in Croix des Bouquets, Haiti (“Project”). The IOC asked CSA Group (CSA) to become Project Managers for this noble endeavor.

This Project will be sponsored by the IOC “Sports for Hope” initiative with a mission to provide positive sport and life style opportunities for athletes, coaches, sports administrators and underserved women, youth and children, through high quality facilities for community development and elite sport for high level sport training and competitions, and to promote the principles and values of Olympism.

To support Sport Development, the IOC envisions developing a multi-purpose facility that will be available and accessible to children, youth, sports administrators, match officials, coaches and high performance athletes. This sport facility will be suitable for sports competitions, camps and clinics and coaches and sport administrators seminars. In addition the project will provide for Educational Programs and Social Development including girl’s empowerment, civic education and health services on HIV & AIDS, malaria and other health issues to athletes, surrounding communities and the general public.

To date, CSA has prepared a Feasibility Study, a Pre Project Alignment Assessment and Project Definition Rating Index, and an Opinion of Probable Cost for this Project. Currently, in close collaboration with the architectural firm of Richter Dahl Rocha, CSA is in the process of finalizing the Preliminary Design Plans for bids.

Once the General Contractor is selected, CSA Project Management role will focus on the following tasks:

  • On Site Project Management
  • Project Schedule
  • Cost Estimates Reviews
  • Budget Review
  • Procurement (including preparation of bid documents, review and recommendations to IOC)
  • Contract Management (including Change Order Review and Recommendation)
  • Construction Inspection, and
