These two projects are key elements in the $14,000,000,000 restoration of the Everglades ecosystem and improvement of water quality in Florida. They consist of the construction of additional storm water treatment cells (STA Cells 5, 6, 7 & 8). These projects involve construction of the portion of Compartment B, known as the South Build-out (SBO) area on approximately 3,000 acres of land and North Build-out (NBO) on approximately 4,500 acres of land, for a total of 7,500 acres.

The scope of the projects includes construction of new NBO and SBO inflow canals; eighteen gated single barrel inflow structures; construction of a new gated double barrel water control structure; spreader canals and associated levees along the sides of SBO and NBO; and re-alignment of the outflow canal and levee to convey water flow away from the existing pump station.
