Transmission Life Extension and Modernization is a multilayer program to upgrade the New York Power Authority's transmission system to maintain availability, increase reliability and ensure regulatory compliance. CSA Group is part of the team contracted in 2013 to provide technical support for the four year TLEM program.

The Program encompasses Authority transmission assets in the Central, Northern and Western regions and has been divided into several projects. All designs are in accordance with NYPA design criteria and applicable standards and codes including the National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code.

CSA provided electrical engineering design and typical upgrades for 13.8kV and 480V Station Service. Our effort included panels schedules, update Maintenance Control Building Layout with new transformers, switchgears, auto-transfer switches and power panels, sized wires/conduits, prepare/update wiring diagrams and developed a system model for the new station NFPA 70E.
