CSA has been contracted by GE Digital Energy (GE) to provide professional engineering and design services comprised of electrical, protection and control, communications, and structural design for the construction for two collector substations (Oriana I and Oriana II) located in Isabela, Puerto Rico.

The Oriana I substation collects medium voltage feeders coming from the photovoltaic plant. The substation will step up the voltage and will deliver power to the PREPA system through a 115 KV line, will have disconnect switches and circuit breakers at 115 KV, a 115KV/34.5KV transformer, and auxiliary equipment like a pad mounted transformer and an emergency generator. This substation also has outdoor 34.5 KV circuit breakers and an outdoor metal structure with its accessories for the 34.5 KV distribution feeders.

The Oriana II substation, interconnected to Oriana I, collects other sets of 34.5 KV feeders. The substation has an outdoor 34.5 KV circuit breakers and metal structure for the 34.5 KV distribution feeders with auxiliary pad mounted transformer and emergency generator.

In addition to engineering and design, CSA is providing Project Management services and construction services such as submittal and shop drawing approvals, bid process support and clarification of any design related questions from contractors.
