The Golden Glades Interchange (GGI), located in northeastern Miami-Dade County, provides connectivity to six major principal arterials and/or limited access expressway facilities including Interstate 95 (I-95), SR 826/Palmetto Expressway, Florida’s Turnpike, SR 9, SR 7/US 441 and N.W. 167th Street. The GGI has a direct impact on inter-county travel between Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties and serves as the backbone for the transportation of goods, services, and the traveling public in this region. The interchange is bordered by the City of Miami Gardens to the north and west, the City of North Miami Beach to the east and the City of North Miami to the south. The South Florida Rail Corridor (SFRC) also traverses the interchange area. The SR 826 Connector Bridge over I-95 will be replaced as part of the Recommended Interim Build Alternative. A detailed Maintenance of Traffic scheme was developed for the bridge replacement to avoid the need for temporary widening.

CSA has been contracted as the Prime Engineer of this project responsible for design elements including roadway design, detailed traffic control plans, and environmental, survey and mapping services. Other responsibilities include structural and drainage design, lighting, signalization, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), utility coordination and public outreach involvement.
