As part of the Molecular Science Center project, being built near the University of Puerto Rico’s Botanical Gardens, CSA is providing architectural and engineering services for design, contractor procurement support, and construction observation services for the development of the third and seventh floor of the building.

The third floor consists of a laboratory and administration area of 17,220 square feet and a Vivarium and administration space located at the seventh floor within a 12,500 square feet area. For the third floor, a Neuro Plasticity and Chemical Synthesis laboratories are included, as well as an office area for researchers and scientists. On the other hand, the seventh floor shows the rooms required for proper functionality of the Vivarium and additional office spaces destined for the director, veterinaries, and technicians. CSA is developing an interior arrangement suitable for UPR’s intended use of the facilities, following the requirements of the National Institute of Health and incorporating the sustainable design strategies of the US Green Building Council for future achievement of the LEED Silver Certification.

CSA is also serving as a liaison between the Design Team and the Contractor, and monitoring the execution of the Work, conducting on-site periodic inspections, and discussing and reviewing field concerns in weekly meetings for the overall building construction.
