The Public Safety Services Center Project involves the renovation and repurposing of an existing complex of buildings assembled on the site of the former Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company at 4601 Market Street in West Philadelphia. The three existing buildings on the site total 375,000 SF. The new project is expected to add approximately 100,000 SF of additional space. The new complex will remedy outdated Police Administration Headquarters, Medical Examiner’s Office and Morgue; and the Department of Public Health Laboratories by providing offices, meeting rooms, labs, biological sample storage, evidence storage, arms storage, holding cells, locker rooms, garage, and morgue state of the art facilities for the city’s Police, Public Health Department and Morgue.

The project plans to achieve a LEED™ Silver certification and bring the buildings up to current codes and standards; incorporating efficient and sustainable components; maintaining security for the community; and providing efficient facilities and parking for city staff conducting legal, medical, pathological and investigative services. CSA is providing HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection design under a contract with Ballinger for the Programming/Concept; Schematic Design and Design Development phases.
