The BVI Airports Authority Ltd. (BVIAA) operates the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport, previously known as Beef Island Airport. The airport is located on a small island off the main island of Tortola, which it is connected by the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge. This is the main airport serving the British Virgin Islands (BVI) in the Caribbean. The airport serves as the gateway to most the islands within the BVI where many travelers fly in and take a ferry to the other smaller Islands.

This project consists of the extension of the existing Runway at Beef Island into the sea and concurrent upgrade/provision of Parallel Taxiways and other airfield systems expansion/upgrades to meet the airfield infrastructural future needs including:

a passenger terminal expansion and upgrades; aircraft ramp expansion for G-5 aircraft, RJ’s; A-320; 737-800; other private jets; sewage treatment plant and fire fighting system relocation; a new Fixed Buildings Operations (FBO) Facility, Trellis Bay Welcome and Visitor Center (Transportation Intermodal Center), Meteorological Facility, museum and shops for local crafts, gifts, and art; pleasure craft water access-excavated channel; Inter-Island Ferry/Transport service upgrade/relocation and provision for local fishing vessels; traffic reorganization and routing and car park upgrades.

CSA was contracted by CHEC to develop Schematic Drawings for the Design-Build-Finance bid process and contracted by TYLin International for the airfield portion of the project.
